Jennifer in College
Jerry graduated from United Community High School and is affiliated with the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Jerry joined the farming operation with his father in 1972. The farming operation uses ridge-tillage; a form of conservation tillage that leaves all of the previous year’s crop residue on the soil surface, uses less chemicals and saves soil. Some of Jerry’s fields have not been plowed in over 40 years. He is currently planting all grain farm corn and bean rotation and uses his own semi to haul grain.
He has had several business ventures including a patent ridge-till planter and cultivator attachments and speaks to various groups on agriculture and ridge-till. His awards in farming include six different yield contest awards at the county level.
Jerry is a member of the Iowa Association of Business & Industry, Boone County Farm Bureau, the NRA, and the Iowa Soybean Association.
